Activities

1. Prevention of Disability
We are organizing Free Camps, School Health Programmes, Awareness Programmes, Distribution of awareness materials, etc and screening 2500 persons every month in the remote villages of Kerala.

2. Education
After successfully implemented Integrated Education Programme for the Disabled Children in Kerala for almost 20 years, we are concentrating on Skill Training, Human Resources Development for Govt/Non Govt agencies, Organising Workshops/Seminars, Distributing Special Aids and Equipment throughout Kerala. Every year 1200 children with special needs receives our support in Education.

3. Advocacy Activities
In many occasions, knowingly or unknowingly the persons with disabilities are denied of their basic rights and this will be challenged through advocacy activities. Also we organize sensitization programmes for Government Departments and the persons with disabilities about their rights.

4. Rehabilitation
At present the following are the rehabilitation going on in Kerala State
a. Trivandrum covering 231 persons with disabilities
b. Alleppey covering 2547 persons with disabilities
c. Ernakulam covering 2385 persons with disabilities
d. Palakkad covering 805 persons with disabilities
e. Waynad covering 117 persons with disabilities

5. Project for the Services to the Children with Multiple Disabilities
A total of 92 children with multiple disabilities are receiving our support under the Home Based Education Programme from Trivandrum and Ernakulam. All the Children are supported by providing various therapies from our centres. We organize Family Development Programmes for the families and enroll all the children in the Sarva Shikhsa Abiyan Programme.

6. Low Vision Centre
The centre which helps to improve the residual vision of a person through optical and non optical aids. The centre is supported by visiting ophthalmologists and full time optometrist trained in Low vision. About 50-60 persons are receiving supportin enhancing their vision from the Centre.

7. Guidance & Counseling
We have Guidance and Counseling Centre attached to all the five of our Offices in Kerala. These centres supports persons with disabilities to avail their benefits, privileges, concessions, etc.

8. Training Programmes
We have vocational training programmes as following

b. Computer Education Programme
c. Chair recaning & Envelope making Training Programme
